ALC Inclusion Awareness Week – February 5-9, 2018

The Adaptive Learning Center (ALC) is pleased to announce their 1st Annual ALC Inclusion Awareness Week, which will be held the week of February 5-9, 2018.

The idea of an ALC Inclusion Awareness Week was introduced in order to raise awareness of inclusion in our preschool, as well as in our community. We hope to use this opportunity to reach out to our families to share the importance of inclusion and how it benefits all of our children, regardless of their learning styles.

This year’s theme, “Being Kind is Cool” will provide a better understanding of diversity and inclusion in our world and teach lessons that will last a lifetime. Activities will be presented during this week to provide information to our children emphasizing ways that we are alike and different. The values of kindness, patience and helpfulness to others will also be encouraged and rewarded.

The Adaptive Learning Center has partnered with our school, as well as 10 other preschools around the metro Atlanta area, to create positive and inclusive learning environments for the past 35 years. ALC inclusion specialists work alongside classroom teachers to encourage positive social experiences for all children while providing accommodations for children with learning challenges.

Inclusive programming promotes an environment of acceptance among children, teachers and families while encouraging the best practices in the field of early childhood education. Learning, playing and having fun together are experiences, which are fundamental to the growth and development of every child.

As part of ALC Inclusion Awareness Week, ALC will be hosting a special event on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. We hope you can join us to hear from area specialists about the Fundamentals to Help Raise Children in a Technology Driven World. Admission to this event is free. Please pre-register HERE.
