Stivers Subaru Continues Commitment to Inclusion in the Atlanta Community

The Adaptive Learning Center (ALC) was honored to be named one of the hometown charities and be represented at Stivers Decatur Subaru during Subaru’s Share the Love event this past Winter.  Over the past three years, the sales team and customers of Stivers Decatur Subaru have raised over $185,000 for ALC.

Subaru’s Share the Love event takes place annual from the end of November to the beginning of January.  During this event, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s choice of the following national charities with a minimum guarantee of $250,000: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America and National Park Foundation. Also, pre-approved Hometown Charities may be selected for donation depending on retailer participation.

“Stivers Subaru has made a commitment to support inclusion in the Atlanta community.  Over the past three years, we have chosen The Adaptive Learning Center as our hometown charity because of the difference they are making Atlanta Community with their Preschool Inclusion Program.  Subaru has a culture of giving back and we wanted to take that a step further and put our financial resources to good use right here in our own community,” stated Johnny Stivers when asked why he chose The Adaptive Learning Center for his charity.

“Because of Stiver’s continued support to Inclusion, The Adaptive Learning Center has been able to partner with more preschools and place more special needs children in typical classrooms around the Atlanta area,” says Charles Schoen.

What is an inclusive preschool?

Inclusion is the full and active participation of children with disabilities or other special needs, along with typically developing children, in community activities, services and programs, including preschool.

About the Share the Love Program:

Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s choice of the following national charities: ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish, Meals On Wheels America® and National Park Foundation, or a hometown charity selected by the local Subaru retailer. Subaru retailers had the opportunity to add a local charity for their customers to support. This year, 642 hometown charities were represented in the event. With some retailers adding their own donations to these local causes, total donations by Subaru and its participating retailers may exceed $15 million.
